Oscar D'Leon is a Venezuelan musician internationally acclaimed for his salsa music.

During the 1980s, D'Leon achieved worldwide success, and is now one of the great singers of Caribbean salsa music.

He is also known as El Sonero del Mundo. In Spanish, sonero actually means 'improvisor.'

It is a term used in Cuba, Puerto Rico and many places in Latin-America to describe the singer's vocal technique.

Early in his career, D'Leon was strongly influenced by famous Cuban musicians such Beny Moré and La Sonora Matancera.

His most famous song is perhaps Llorarás, which he first recorded in 1975 with his group La Dimensión Latina.
