Trinidad and Tobago is poised to develop into one of the Caribbean’s most viable business tourism destinations.

New hotels offer all the amenities business travelers need and expect.

The 428 room Hyatt Regency Trinidad Hotel and Conference Centre, site of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference in May 2008, wowed delegates with its sleek new design, incredible cuisines and staff hospitality. The Investment conference was the Hyatt's first big event. And just a year later, the hotel was chosen for the Summit of the Americas in May 2009.

Joseph T. Ross, minister of tourism for Trinidad and Tobago, said the government is in the midst of finalizing a national tourism policy.

He announced “Our people and our country are ready to take a place on the world tourism stage.”

Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister Patrick Manning has promised to marshall resources to strengthen the Caribbean brand, and create an authentic One Caribbean experience, by joining with CHA, CTO and regional tourism boards.

He stressed “the Caribbean is stronger when we all come together.”
