REDjet offers affordable intraCaribbean

Ian Burns the CEO of REDjet told delegates at the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s recent “State of the Industry” conference in St.Martin that affordable intra Caribbean travel has come to the region via RED jet, which launched in the spring of 2011.
Burns stated “ REDjet has been “created by consumers for consumers so everyone can fly.” Burns asserted that REDjet allows passengers to fly to “ any town, any city and beach in the Caribbean for less than $50 US.”
The airlines currently operate six routes in the five countries- Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad, Antigua and Jamaica and runs two MD-82 aircraft, fitted with 149 seats. The airlines plans to acquire an additional two planes by April 2012. According to Burns the airlines will soon include two new routes to St. Maarten and St. Lucia as well.
Burns says his airlines has “ more than delivered” on its promise to reduce the cost of travel in the region by up to 60 percent, citing that REDjet’s entry into certain markets resulted in competing airlines lowering their fares. .
Burns observed that his company has created” a compelling consumer proposition that is revolutionizing travel in the Caribbean.” emphasizing that the airlines offers “ real freedom real choice and unlimited opportunities for citizens and business that just have not existed in the region until now.”
Citing the prior history of intraCaribbean travel with its exorbitant fares, convoluted routing and lack of customer service, Burns said REDjet prides itself on being “the breath of fresh air” He emphasized the airlines plans to stay in the region for the “ long haul” and “will continue to have the best and lowest fares.”
