Help for small business in the Virgin Islands
SBDC: A dynamic resource for entrepreneurs
virginvoices.com staff
Small business owners in the Virgin Islands may be more fortunate than those in other regions, thanks to a dynamic resource for entrepreneurs.
The Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center at the University of the Virgin Islands offers a range of free services to people who own their own business, want to begin a business or improve their business skill set.
During the past few years the center has grown and now offers in person as well as on line consultation in St. Thomas, St Croix and St. John.
In addition to personal one on one services SBDC in the Virgin Islands hosts informative seminars, workshops and presentations. On going presentations include instructions in how to develop a business plan, apply for loans, market a business and manage inventory and accounting. SBDC also partners with other professional organizations to create conferences and bring well known national and international speakers to the Virgin Islands.
Leonor Dottin, State director for Small Business Development Center leads a staff of certified experts on three islands who can help any small business owner or potential entrepreneur navigate the choppy waters of the current economy.
The Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center is a partnership program of the University of the Virgin Islands and the U.S. Small Business Administration
